Privacy policy
This policy covers www.guidedkitchen.com: the waitlist, the feature board and the free tools. The Guided Kitchen app at app.guidedkitchen.com has its own privacy policy, which you'll see when you create an account.
The short version: we collect your email address when you join the waitlist or vote, and we use it to send your invite. We count page views, and if you say yes, Google Analytics cookies help us understand how the site is used.
Who we are
Guided Kitchen is a small, independent project run by its founder in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the information described here. Contact us at hello@guidedkitchen.com.

We don't ask for your name, and we don't build a profile of you.
The services we use
- Clerk holds the waitlist. When you join, your email is stored in Clerk's waitlist for our account, and Clerk sends your invite email. Clerk is based in the United States and processes data under standard contractual clauses.
- Cloudflare hosts this website, stores feature votes (as email hashes, not addresses), and runs Turnstile, which checks that forms are filled in by people rather than bots. Turnstile doesn't use cookies to track you across sites.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views without cookies and without identifying you.
- Google Analytics (Google LLC) measures how the site is used. With your consent it sets cookies that recognise your browser on return visits; without it, Google Analytics only receives a cookieless signal that a page was viewed, with no identifier that links your visits. We have turned off its advertising features. Google processes data in the United States under standard contractual clauses.
We don't sell your data, share it with advertisers, or add you to a newsletter.
Cookies
The only cookies on this website are Google Analytics cookies, and they're only set if you choose Accept in the cookie banner:

You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. Choosing No thanks removes these cookies. We remember your choice in your browser's local storage.
The voting page remembers your email in your own browser's local storage, so you don't have to type it again; you can clear it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.
The free tools
The salt converter, ingredient converter and kitchen timer run entirely in your browser. Anything you type into them stays on your device. The kitchen timer saves running timers in your browser's local storage so they survive a page reload.
How long we keep it
Waitlist emails are kept until you get your invite and create an account (then the app's privacy policy applies), or until you ask us to remove you. Vote hashes are kept while the feature board is running.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Email hello@guidedkitchen.com and we'll reply within a month. If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your email, we'll tell you before it takes effect.
